Originally from Venice, CA I have always had a passion for the ocean: surfing, diving, and sailing. As an undergrad at University of California, Santa Cruz I conducted marine ecology research in Monterey, CA on rockfish distribution. I also conducted research in Corsica, France on the Moray eel population dynamics and their unique color patterns. I then spent three seasons as a field tech for PISCO a subtidal long term ecological monitoring program, progressing my field proficiencies. Since joining the Hughes Lab in August 2024 I have been working on a project to understand the dispersal of Bull Kelp spores outside of a kelp bed.
